                December:- Tasks for Week One.

Protect Tender Plants, Christmas Roses etc.: hang sacking around them or place wattling in the ground around them, stuffed with straw.

Prune Clematis Jackmanii: this may be done now, but is not essential until late February. Either of two methods may be employed: 1] prune all shoots back to one foot of the ground, thus maintaining a smallish plant. 2] allow a framework of main vines and prune back to one joint from there.
